What Causes Dryness And Intense Itching On The Vagina?
Question: for almost a year I have had problems with my vagina its got to the point that when I go to sleep at night I end
up scratching then when I go to the bathroom it burns like you wouldn't believe and then it gets to the point
that it feels like the lips have scales on them. it also hurts when I have sex with hubby.

The burning dryness and itching n the vagina is commonly encountered in two conditions ,
One is The Candidiasis (yeast), this does present with intense itching and foul smelling curdy discharge.This condition can be easily treated with antifungals like Flucanazole.
The other possibility for such a problem is low estrogen levels leading to dryness in the vagina which stimulate the vaginal mucosa and cause itching.
Do get examined by a gynaecologist and ascertain the cause to get treated.
Meanwhile you can take an antihistaminic like Benadryl which will reduce the itching.
