What Causes Dryness And Tiredness Of Eyes After Using Contact Lenses?
Question: My wife is having -3.25 power in both the eyes. She is currently using contact lens of " J&J Acuvue Clear monthly disposable". But sometimes facing dryness and tiredness in eyes.
Please suggest which brand and type of contact lens can be used for this.
Normal duration of contact lens usage is around 10-12 hours per day.

It seems from the history that your wife is having myopia of -3.25 dioptres and she is using contact lenses with wearing time of 10-12 hours per day.
The complaints of dryness and tiredness of eyes indicate dry eyes caused by contact lenses. The dry eyes is one of the common symptoms noticed by people who wear contact lenses.
This can be prevented or treated by the use of lubricating artificial tears eye drops. Few artificial tears eye drops without preservatives like refresh tears can be used with compatibility even over the contact lenses.
XXXXXXX and XXXXXXX Acuvue lenses are one of the good brands of contact lenses you can continue them. Usually brands does not have any difference in their side effects and most of the brands can be used safely. I usually use Bausch and Lomb contact lenses for my patients. You can consider using them from next time.
Along with artificial tears she need to reduce the contact lens wearing time by another 2-3 hours per day till the symptoms decrease and she needs to avoid certain things which will cause dryness of eyes like continuous viewing of computer, exposure to dry heat, use of air conditioner, fan.....

Refresh tears is a preservative free artificial tears eye drops and it can be used safely even after wearing contact lenses. XXXXXXX and XXXXXXX Acuvue lenses, which she is using are also good lenses and you can continue them.
If you want Bausch and Lomb contact lenses, you can go for the option number 1, Bausch & Lomb Soflens 59 (6 Lenses/box).
Along with the artificial tears eye drops she needs to reduce the wearing time as I have mentioned in the previous response.
