What Causes Dryness In Nostrils And Swelling In Nasal Passages?
Question: Hello,
I have an ongoing problem with my right nostril and nasal passage. I have severe dryness in my nostril and back in my nasal passage I experience nasal swelling that comes and goes. I also have a deviated septum that curves toward the right side. But I feel that the septum is less of an issue as the dryness and swelling prevents me from being able to breathe through my right nostril most of the time. I have seen three ENT doctors and they all have prescribed nasal sprays such as Flonase and Nasonex. I only get short relief with the sprays and I don't feel like they reach far enough back to address the nasal swelling. I have also tried nasal cleansers with little success. Do you have any other suggestions as to what I can do or try? Is some sort of surgery the only way to cure these problems? Thank you!

Brief Answer:
May be suffering from the blockage in the NLD
Detailed Answer:
Hi Sir,
I have gone through your query and medical history; it suggests that you may be suffering from the blockage in the right nasolacrimal duct (NLD).
To rule out this other disease and to reach the near diagnosis you may go for the
1. Eye syringing of the right eye.
2. Nasal endoscopy and
3. CT Scan PNS.
4. Blood sugar and blood pressure measurement.
If above mentioned test are within normal limit, then I personally suggests liquid paraffin nasal drops 2 drops five times a day with steam inhalation.
Thanks
