Question: Hi For the last 3 months I have woken up with a very dry mouth in the morning. At the same time I have been getting wheezy on occasions but only at rest. I also now blow my nose in the morning and have blood on the tissue. Feel really groggy every morning which is so unusual. I am 42 always been an early riser and have always felt great in the morning. The GP has tested my blood for various things. I have also had an ECG and chest X-ray which came back clear. Help? XXXXX

Brief Answer: hi, allergic rhino bronchitis. Detailed Answer: Hi, In my opinion you are having allergic rhino bronchitis. The dryness of mouth and bleeding from nose are well explained by allergy of nose. Bronchial allergy causes hyper reactive airway which causes wheezing. If I were your treating doctor, I would have asked for few investigation like AEC for allergy; allergic skin prick test to find out the allergens and spirometry to rule out the lung function. I would start you on antihistamine + anti leukotriene tablets for 6 weeks along with decongestant nasal drops and steroids inhaler to reduce wheezing after tests. I urge you to consult an ENT surgeon and discuss about this condition. He/she will know about the tests. Hope I have answered your query, thanks , regards.

Thank you I am also suffering from headaches which I should have mentioned. Does this also fit with your reply?

Brief Answer: hi, its sinus headache. Detailed Answer: Hi, yes headache also is because of allergy rhinitis. Headache is more in early morning and late evenings. Do stream inhalation daily twice, once in morning and once in night before sleeping. If I were your treating doctor I would recommend you to take pain killers with decongestant to releive headache twice a day when needed. Thanks.
