What Causes Dull Burning Sensation In Right Hip?
Question: I have a dull, burning type discomfort in the area of my right hip, a location where I had a benign tumor removed (surgery) when I was 17 years old (I am now 59). I have no mobility problems or muscle weakness. There is no tenderness or sharp pain whatsoever. The discomfort is at its peak at night when I am sitting and sleeping. Movement reduces the discomfort. The discomfort also appears in my right ankle that I injured when I was 21 (surgery with screws. The screws have been removed.)

The symptoms of the query are quite suggestive of a small fiber neuropathy.
The skin is supplied by small nerve fibers. During surgery these fibers are cut.
This leads to the burning sensation you are having.
Meet your local neurologist for a prescription for pregabalin and I am sure that you will feel better.
I have tried to make it as simple as possible. I hope that the information contained in this message will be able to help you find the best solution for your problem. Best of luck. Dr Mittal
