What Causes Dull Constant Pain In Tragus?
Seems like infection of external ear
Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX
I can understand your concern
As described by you, you have constant dull pain in tragus. This is very suggestive of infection of external ear. We call this as otitis externa or swimmers ear as it is common in swimmers.
If you have recently gone for swimming or water has gone inside your ear during showering then this may be the cause of this.
You need a proper ENT specialist examination to confirm the diagnosis.
He will clean your ear if any debris is there and prescribe ear drop containing antibiotics and steroids.
Oral antibiotics can also be given if infection is severe.
Apart from this you need pain killer such as ibuprofen or paracetamol etc.
You can take this on sos basis if there is delay in ENT specialist appointment.
One conditions that we call malignant otitis externa is common in diabetics , needs long duration of antibiotics that need to be rule out.
Hope this will help you dear.
