What Causes Ear Ache Along With Mild Headaches?
2 months agao , I felt like swaying automatically and used to gravitate towards one side ..while turning my head . This was accompanied by ear aches and mild headaches. I went to ENT but they cudnt find anything wrong with my middle ear.
I started to recuprate though.
Now the symptoms in my right ear is gone... also I walk steady.
Only problem is .... my left ear : It aches mildly(2 ot of 10), it feels warm here after, and it seems like a bone is logged in my left throat while swallowing. And while I have these symptoms, my head on left side is numb and unsteady(but its not bad like before).
Can you help me diagonise it?
Also there has been no hearing loss according to audiologist.
Further data is needed....
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I have gone through your medical history carefully and understood your concerns.
The pain you are feeling on your left ear, that is felt warm here after, and associated with the feeling of logged bone in your left throat while swallowing is suggestive for possible ear inflammation.
I need to know at this point:
- do you feel to have flu-like symptoms while you have such pain: fever? sore throat?
- is this feeling persistent or from time in time?
- any history of : high blood pressure? diabetes? migraine? thyroid?
I am happy to know that nothing wrong is going on with your middle ear and there is no hearing loss as per audiologist.
Looking forward to have your additional data in!

Inflamed ear while on sore throat;trigeminal nerve pain to rule out...
Detailed Answer:
Hi back XXXXX,
Thank you for providing the requested data.
As you are reporting to have sore throat, and the symptoms might be from time in time, then, what I think is that at the time you have sore throat, your left ear gets easily inflammed (not infected). The result is the pain and other symptoms you experienced.
Once the sore throat or viral infection is gone, the pain will be also subsided (because the inflammation will be subsided too).
I usually advise my patients with the same problems as yours to:
- keep a good oral hygiene at the time they have sore throat
- use ear drops containing analgesic drug to ease the pain
- do not use ear buds to clean your ear as that will aggravate your situation
You can discuss this with your ENT specialist. Neurological examination is also advised to rule out nerve issues (especially trigeminal nerve pain).
Hope it answered to your query!
Let me know if I can be of further help!
