What Causes Ear Ringing And Loss Of Hearing?
Question: I am having ringing and lost of hearing in my left ear. It changes through out the day. I have had it for about a week. It is more like a humming.

1. Did you have cough or cold in the recent past?
2. Does the loss hearing also change during the day, as in do you feel you can hear well for a while and then again there seems to be a block in the ear?
3. DO you have giddiness as well?
4. Do you have headache?
5. Any discharge from the ear associated with pain?

Thanks for getting back, I am sorry for the short delay in my response, I was on call at my hospital.
From the description you have given me it looks like you have a conductive hearing loss, most likely to be due to impacted wax.
Please meet an ENT specialist for an examination. Soliwax ear drops 2 drops into the ear every 6 hours will help liquefy the wax and reduce the block. The ringing also should come down once the impacted wax is taken care of
