Question: My girlfriend who is 48, has been getting significant bruising for no reason. This has been since about a year ago. Her CBC is unremarkable, she smokes and is on high blood pressure medicine. A large fibroid mass was recently found in her uterus.

Thanks for the query.
Spontaneous bruising can be even due to defect in clotting factors.
Get her bleeding and clotting time checked.
The CBC is normal but there can be problems with cells.
Get a peripheral blood smear also done.
These tests can be easily done in any lab.
Let me know the reports.
If possible please upload a photograph of the involved area.
This will help me in giving a closer diagnosis.
