What Causes Easy Bruising?
Question: have been anemic for 50 years, now severely anemic, bruises all over body from simple soft contacts, hugs from children, carrying purse strap on forearm. not bleeding out of body, no cuts, scrapes

Dear Mam,
I did review your concern. I think there are two problems here if I am not wrong. You are anemic for 50 years and you are having easy bruising. To get to the bottom of this I would like to see your recent blood reports that has the hemoglobin level, red blood cell indices, platelet count and other values. Also please let me know if a prothrombin time or other coagulation related tests are ever done and if so please send me those reports too. You can upload the reports here.
Anemia can be due severe reasons and not necessarily can be corrected by iron tablets in every case. We need to know what is causing it. Same is with easy bleeding. Once I review the reports I will be in a better position to guide you regarding the possible causes and how to manage both the conditions and if at all they are related to each other.
