What Causes Electrical Shock Like Sensation In The Breast?

Question: Hi,
I feel like electric pulse passing throughmy breast after i breast feed my new born 20 days baby. Please suggest how to overcome this. Im getting constant guidenance about 4 times today please suggest solution

Hello and welcome to HCM. Thanks for writing in to us with your health concerns. There can be this type of sensation during Breast feed.Since this started today so it can be temporarily associated. . Yes its painfull. I rate it 6. I feel this after every time i finish direct breast feeding to my baby. If i use nipple shield this doesnt happen

Yes it is let down of milk

No dear,

Nothing much to worry about, and after going through your history it seems like let down of milk as your baby latches to your Breast. It is common and is of course important.

Eventually you will get habituated to this and nothing to worry about.
