What Causes Elevated CRP Levels In Blood?
Question: I got my blood tests done and it shows an abnormally high C reactive protein, is there any cause for worry. Also my iron levels are low and Vitamin D levels are low. Any suggested course of action. I have hypothyroidism and I am on 100 mcg of Eltroxin.
Brief Answer:
No , I dont think so.
Detailed Answer:
Dear Madam,
Thank you for posting your query on HCM.
CRP is just a marker of acute inflammation . CRP level is not specific for anything. so its better , just to monitor them . I will advise you to repeat it after 15 days . Also for low vitamin D supplement 60000 IU of vitamin d supplements should be taken for 12 weeks every week then once a month . You can ask your local doctor about it.
Any other query please ask . For low iron levels if hemoglobin is fine nothing much to be done so let me know your hemoglobin levels .
Take care .
