What Causes Elevated MCV And MCH Levels In Blood?
Question: I am a 62 year old female with a low platelet count 120--which I never have had before. My MCV is 108.2. My MCH is 36.2 and my platelet count is 120L. What can I do to get these levels up to normal?

Ideally, I will like to see the entire report as there are other elements about platelets such as mean volume which would be very important in making sense of this number. Also, was the blood sample looked under the microscope as a simple clinging together of platelets may be responsible for this. Finally, do you have any bleeding problems?
Higher MCV And MCH are caused by low levels of vitamin B12 and/folic aid in blood. I will suggest that you continue with the supplements and eat healthy.
