What Causes Elevated PSA Levels?
Question: I recently was disgnosed with a prostate infection and just reveived the results of my PSA tests and urinalysis. The PSA test shows a normal range between 0-4, but my results show an 11. Is that "normal" given an infection? Any issues with the other labs u see?

The most common cause of PSA elevation includes benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH ) and prostatitis (inflammation of the prostate). Since you were diagnosed with prostate infection this raised in PSA can be due to infection. No need to worry as the level will be normal after recovery.
The report also shows that your RBC and WBC has increased suggesting urinary tract infection. There may be mucosal injury with in the tract also. No special treatment required for this. Continue treatment given for prostate infection and drink plenty of water.
