What Causes Elevated PVCs And PACs?

default
Posted on Sat, 2 Aug 2014
Question: I have a history of pvc and Pac. I am a 30 year old woman of 3 kids. I've had a full cardiovascular work up including holter monitor, stress test, ekg, echo, and 30 day holter. they have recently gotten worse. I feel them more frequently through the day, some days being worse than others. I went a few weeks ago to have the holster repeated which showed around 300 pcv and pac during the day. I was told to stop worrying about them. today they are incredibly bad to where at times I will get 5 or so in a minute. it isn't like that constantly today, but has been for a portion of the day. I'm also incredibly tired due to have very little sleep the night before. I was told these are not harmful since I do not get major symptoms. The only symptom I feel is a rushing sensation. Are these still not harmful when getting them this frequently? At one point I was told the frequency of them didn't matter. my heartrate is in the 70s and blood pressure is normal. thanks!

I do not have reports of the tests, but I can get them. what is the reason they cannot be left untreated if they aren't harmful? I'm on prenatal vitamins because I am breastfeeding. I also take baby aspirin because of a pregnancy induced protein s deficiency. thanks.

Brief Answer:
Can cause circulatory disturbances

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for writing back.

If the density of the ectopics/ pvc increase can cause disturbance in circulation and may result in perfusion defects.

There are chances of it getting progressed to serious arrhythmias if left untreated, hence it is better to consider treatment at early stage itself.

I shall wait to have a look at the reports to be sure in my opinion.
