Brief Answer:
what is your SGPT level.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
welcome to HCM.

I have read your query and understand the concern.

It is good that you are on a remission phase of NH lymphoma.

Since all your reports are normal except SGPT which is high as you said.

So,before going into further discussion I would like to know your SGPT level in blood. Here I can see three attachments which is a medical certificate of some doctor but not the blood reports.

Kindly share this figure, so that I may guide you accordingly and if possible with all other blood investigations.

Regards,

Brief Answer:
It is considered as a clinically normal,do not worry.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Good morning,
Thanks for sharing the reports.

I have seen the attached investigation reports here and can understand your concern about SGPT.

Here your SGPT (91) will be considered as a clinically normal despite it is marginally elevated (depending upon the lab variations) here and it would have no clinical significance in an otherwise healthy individual.

Rest of other blood and liver function tests reports are completely normal.

I would not be personally worried about it, since SGPT (ALT) is highly sensitive liver function test and it might get easily elevated even with fatty meal or even mild alcohol intake.

The other causes of SGPT rise could be use of pain killers (NSAIDs),use of various types of non herbal health supplements, obesity and heavy exercises or some autoimmune disease or liver disorders like hepatitis B or C but they are very unlikely in your case.

So, do not worry about it and possibly avoid fatty/junk/oily foods further.

However, you can repeat the test for SGPT after 4 weeks on fasting blood sample and most probably it will come within normal limits.

Meanwhile, you may take tab.Udilive 300 mg twice daily which is a bile acid, a substance naturally produced by the body and does not have any side effects.

You may also take syrup LIV-52 DS 2TSF daily which is a herbal preparation having hepato-protective property and may be beneficial for you.

And let me know which cholesterol lowering medicine you are taking? Is it atorvastatin or any other medicine from statin group.

Hope this helps and let me know your more questions.

Brief Answer:
heavy exercises might also cause mild elevation in SGPT.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for the reply.

As we discussed earlier,91 SGPT level is considered as a normal clinically and even heavy exercises might also cause mild elevation in SGPT,so no need to be worried now.

You may continue to take rosuvastatin 10 mg which is a very good hypolipidemic (cholesterol lowering) drug.

Hope this answers your questions and doubts.

Still,if you want any further help then feel free to ask me.

Regards,

Dr.Sandip kabra
