Hello,

if your kidneys are OK then urine glucose means high blood glucose occurred at some time during the day (or night). A level higher than 180mg% is normally required for blood sugar to appear in the urine. The pH does not offer much information without a clinical question. Trace proteins may indicate a renal problem or it may not. Further investigation is required (24 hour urine collection).

Brief Answer:
Elevated urine sugar level indicate Dibetes needs further investigations.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for query .
Elevated sugar levels in urine strongly suggests Diabetes and needs to be confirmed by Blood Sugar Test on empty stomach(Fasting) and 2 hours after full meals (Post Postprandial) to confirm the diagnosis .

Energy requirement of our body are met with carbohydrate metabolism that is controlled by hormone insulin in blood which helps to convert carbohydrates in food into glucose .During normal mechanism the blood is filtered through kidneys which reabsorbs the glucose as it is required for energy production hence no sugar is detected in urine .However whenever there is excess of sugar in blood as it happens in Diabetes due to diminished production of insulin our kidneys fail to reabsorb this excess glucose which passes in urine .Thus presence of glucose in urine is indication of Diabetes and needs to be investigated further by doing blood tests as mentioned above to confirm the presence and severity of diabetes .(The base line normal values of blood sugar levels in a healthy non diabetic person are
80-110 mg fasting
120-140 mg Postprandial .
Value above these normal range suggests Diabetes .

Presence of glucose in urine is preliminary test and suspected to be diabetes and needs further blood test as explained above to confirm the severity of diabetes .

Collection of 24 urine sample is normally done to estimate quantity of proteins passed out in urine in 24 hours and helps to decide about severity of protinuria which helps to decide about kidney disease .(You have to collect urine that you pass in 24 hours in a container and submit the whole urine sample to estimate protein passed out in urine in 24 hours.)

Protein trace detected in urine has no significance as it can be detected in normal individuals with high protein diet .It is high grade proteinuria that needs to be investigated further to rule out any kidney disease .

Ph of 5.6 suggest that your urine to be acidic in nature and is considered to be normal .

Hope I have answered your query ,please feel free to ask if you have more questions , I shall be happy to help you .
Thanks and Regards.
