What Causes Elevated Liver Enzymes?
Question: I am 9 weeks pregnant. I am recently recovering from a nasty stomach bug that kept me very sick and able to keep almost no food down for 6 days. That was about a week ago now. This weekend we had family in town and I had a few sips of some beer at dinner. Didn't even drink a half.
I had my first round of pregnancy blood tests this morning and my OB nurse called to say I had elevated liver enzymes and wants me to test again next week. I never drink alcohol. I'm almost 30 but always got red really quick from alcohol so I always stayed away from it.
Could my severe dehydration from a week ago and possibly the few sips of beer less than 48 hours ago have caused this result? Should I worry?
