What Causes Elevated Serum Beta HCG Blood Levels During 7th Week Of Pregnancy?
Question: I am 7 wks 4 days pregnant with slow rising hcg levels first 36000 to 41000 in 72 hrs...does this mean I could miscarry? Ultrasound scheduled for next week but very worried after 3 mcs in the last 2 yrs!
Brief Answer:
Immediate ultrasound scan required
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I understand your concerns.
Serum beta hCG blood levels are not exactly doubling after 7 weeks and difficult to measure them with doubling time.
Serum beta hCG blood test is not ideal way if assessing pregnancy at this stage.
You need to get transvaginal ultrasound scan done at the earliest to identify the gestational sac, Heart beat of the baby.
Try to get an earliest appointment. If you don't see heart beat of baby it is miscarriage again.
Ultrasound scan is required soon.
