Brief Answer:
HYPERURICEMIA &TREATMENT

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXX
Normal uric acid level is male 2.5-8.0 mg/dL (150-480 micromol/L
urine uric acid-excretion of >800 mg/d on regular diet in the absence of drugs suggests overproduction.
As you mentioned that there is elevated level of uric acid in the blood .
The drug of choice is "allopurinol";initially 100 mg daily increased according to the response until the plasma concentration of urate is reduced to less than 6 mg / 100 ml.
Maintenance 100-300 mg daily for mild to moderate level ;up to 600 mg daily moderately very high level.
Maximum 800 mg daily.Up to 300 mg as a single dose; larger dosage should be taken in divided dosage to minimise gastric irritation.
If allopurinol is not effective(hypersensitive , intolerance ) then the drug of choice is "FEBUXOSTAT " 40 mg .
Hope this will help your brother .
Good luck.
