What Causes Enlargement For Large Intestine?

default
Posted on Sat, 8 Nov 2014
Question: I took an Abdominal X-ray and my large intestine is 2-3 times larger than normal, filled with solid fecal matter. I've taken low doses of peri colace since Sunday and only started to pass small thin amounts of stool. My abdomen is also distended. Should I continue peri colace or or seek treatment?

Brief Answer:
Seek medical advice

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to Healthcaremagic
Greetings of the day

The cause of your condition is likely to be due to impacted stools in colon and rectum which has lead to ineffective evacuation of stools.
As you still have distension of abdomen even after taking peri colase ,you need to see your Physician. You will require Enema and further assessment.

Do get back to me if you need any further assistance, will be glad to assist you.

Take care
