Question: For six years I have had monthly episodes of non- stop vomiting and profuse sweating for four days. Also chills without fever, headache, somnambulism, photosensitivity. General wrakness/fatigue follow four-day episodes. I have been going to DC's two leading university hospitals, and no diagnosis or treatment plan. I cannot work, I am loosing 20% of my life, and six years is far too long. I am a 59 year old male. Any help appreciated.

So my "Mystery Episodes" remain a mystery… I am beginning to think it is Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome , in some way related to my 40 year history of Migraines, and other secondary nervous system issues that struck during the first attack 6 years ago (Rosacea and Ptosis. I cannot find the latest lab results, but all bloodwork was in the normal range. CAT scans and MRI's of brain and neck show nothing abnormal.
Brief Answer:
Could be abdominal migraine
Detailed Answer:
There is an entity called 'abdominal migraine' which may a possibility in view of the long standing history of migraine. Are you on any prophylactic medicines for migraine? If not you could try pizotifen, propanolol and cyproheptadine and see if these would reduce the episodes in number and severity.
Best wishes ,
