What Causes Essential Tremors In The Head?
Question: From time to time my head shakes for no apparent reason. Is that normal for my age.
Brief Answer:
Possible essential tremor.
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using HCM.
I have read your question and understand your concerns.
About 30% of cases with essential tremor affect cranial and cervikal musculature, so, if you don't experience any other symptoms or issues such balance and gait issues, cognitive impairment, this is the most likely condition.
This is a relatively common encountered issue in your age.
However, if head shaking started acutely, or you notice any progression of shakiness, an evaluation by your Neurologist is necessary.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
Take care.
