What Causes Excessive Crying After Taking Anesthesia Shots?
Question: after anesthesia i have trouble with excessive crying. could this be the cause?
Brief Answer:
Consultation
Detailed Answer:
Hello, and thanks for your question.
Anesthesia can have many unusual effects on the body. Some people experience confusion, labile emotions, anger, irritability, sadness, and yes, even crying. This is certainly not uncommon and I believe anesthesia is the direct cause of the crying you describe here. Don't worry, this is uncomfortable but completely safe.

Ok it has been since March since I've had this problem. It's getting worse not better. I have become depressed and my fibromyalgia is worse. Help!
Brief Answer:
Followup
Detailed Answer:
In this case, the problem is likely major depression, and not anesthesia. I recommend treatment with an SNRI antidepressant such as Effexor or Cymbalta. I recommend this type of antidepressant because they also treat fibromyalgia effectively.
