What Causes Excessive Drowsiness, COPD And High BP?

Question: I am having a problem with staying awake even after a good night's sleep. I am 69 and have had COPD for 10 years. I also have HBP which is controlled very well by med's. But continuously when I am sitting/not active, I nod out without even realizing I am slipping into semi sleep. It only lasts a few minutes & then I wake startled. MY 02 is set at the proper setting & I don't have much problem with SOB, but this seeming "passing out/faintness" is scaring me. I also seem to dream a bit during these few minutes. Any idea what this might be?
Brief Answer:
Might be sleep apnea, best get tested in "sleeping lab"
Detailed Answer:
Dear patient,
you might be suffering from sleep apnea, a condition that fits your description and can be associated with copd. This can be further diagnosed in special "sleeping labs" where you get observed and several tests are being made during your sleep. This can be treated with special masks one diagnose is specified.
