What Causes Excessive Gas And Frequent Bowel Movements After Taking Prilosec And Tamsulosin?
Question: I am 79, taking Prilosec and tamsulosin. Since starting, been having excessive gas and frequent bowel movements. No pain or discomfort. At least two months now. Cause? Thanks! GM

The most likely cause is intolerance from one of these drugs or the products used in producing them. These medications are not a must take daily and I will suggest that you stop one and observe if there would be a change in your symptoms or not. If there is none, reintroduce and do same for the other. This would for sure tell which of the drugs is responsible for this. We would then evaluate the options and maybe change the brand or the medication used for this condition so that you can be relieved of these symptoms.
