Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us
I am dr.kakkar (dermatologist). I have gone through your query and I have noted your concern.
You seem to have Female pattern androgenetic alopecia.
It is characterised by hair thinning and loss mainly from the front and crown part of the scalp in females. Androgenetic alopecia initially manifests as widenned part width and later on by more obvious thinning.
I would suggest you to use topical minoxidil 5% solution. Minoxidil is a non-specific hair growth promoter. One ml of minoxidil solutions should be applied on clean and dry scalp, twice daily. Avoid using hair oil.
In addition you may take a tablet of finasteride 5mg (Finast 5 mg) once daily. Finasteride* inhibits the enzyme 5 alpha reductase present in hair follicles which converts testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT); DHT is main culprit that is responsible for thinning of hair follicles. Therefore by preventing conversion of testosterone to DHT, finasteride prevents hair thinning.
Treatment is long term and preferably life long. Goal is to arrest and even reverse early hair thinning.
*Finasteride should not be used in pregnant females and avoided in females who may get pregnant while on treatment
