What Causes Excessive Intake Of Breast Milk By An Infant?
Question: My wife delivered a baby boy on 15th october. Normal delivery. She was able to feed from next day. But from last night we have noticed that the baby is feeding almost every hour instead of 2 hour. We consulted a doc and they advised us to feed onw full breast completelty so that baby gets hind milk. But what is confusing now is its feeding on pne breast almost for 40 mins.
One morenissue is - baby criea before passing stool and urine. Can there be some infection?

Feeding Tips
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome to healthcare magic.
Congratulations on your new baby arrival.
The baby needs more breast milk. The main reason for frequent feeding is probably baby is not getting enough milk when fed once.
So please follow steps adviced below:
1. See to it that mother gets good diet that contains all regular meal she eats and let her not starve.
2. Let her diet include milk, yogurt and protein. Let her drink plenty of water.
3. Let her latch the nipple completely on baby's mouth and feed without interruptions in between. After one side, let her try on other side breast. Both sides together will give enough milk.
4. Crying before passing stool or urine is fine. Don't worry.
Regards
