Question: female 29 yrs had excessive loss of blood durinf D/C She now is in earlt menopause and infertile. Can this be result of loss of blood during D/C i.e. sheenans diserase or other cause thank you
Brief Answer:
Sheehan's syndrome
Detailed Answer:
Hello
I read your query and I understand your concerns about Sheehan's Syndrome.
After such repeated and difficult D and C anterior part of pituitary gland undergoes necrosis causing infertility.
But this does not cause menopausal changes. She needs to check ovarian reserve by transvaginal ultrasound scan.
But if D and C has caused intrauterine adhesions (called Ashermann's syndrome) she will need uterine surgery to correct it.
Please attach recent reports if you have. I will be able to advice further seeing these reports.

Thank you very much but would the excessive loss of blood result in the necrosis of the pituitary gland and result in the infertility. Your observation of the ashermann's syndrome is also instructive. Thank you again
Brief Answer:
Yes
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Yes. Excess blood loss which causes small amount of thrombosis (blood clots) to hit pituitary and cause necrosis.
But this is not very common.
Please scan and attach hormone, ultrasound scan, hysteroscopy reports so that I can advice better as to how to proceed.
Regards
