Brief Answer:
Steroid drops can be tried to clear up the secretions...

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thanks for writing back

Excessive sebaceous secretions could be a sign of atopic dermatitis or hypertrophied glands in the skin, which can "weep", and easily get secondarily infected. This is more of a skin condition than a true ear infection.

Atopic dermatitis often requires some on-going treatment, and introduction of any foreign body in the ear tend to make it worse. While hypertrophied sebaceous glands do not have particular treatment.

Most of the time hypertrophied glands could be limited to one particular part. Seldom, it may involve the entire body.

If there are no other causes of ear discharge noticed a dermatologist may need to be consulted.

Steroid drops can be tried to clear up the secretions, but, I would still insist you to get a complete evaluation of the ear carried out before taking any medications.

Hope this clarifies your doubts; revert back to me, if you have any further queries.
