What Causes Excessive Sleepiness When On Gabapentin?

Question: I am a disabled korea veterian an am taking gabapentin for feet pain an seems all I want to do is sleep a lot I'm 80 yrs old an my sugar is border line ?my question is mostly about reaction taking this medication which the va dr. recommended.

Thanks for the query.
GABAPANTINE is an anti convulsant drug and it's main side effects are..
Drowsiness,dizziness,blurred vision,tiredness unusual eye movement,tremors etc.
A small number of people may develop swollen glands,dark urine,yellow eyes also and in that event,you should inform your doctor about it.
Take this drug at same dime time everyday for proper action.
If you are taking some antacid containing aluminium or magnesium ,then take GABAPANTINE after two hours of taking antacid.
