What Causes Excessive Sweating After Taking Augmentin?
Question: Yes, after I started taking 875mg. to 1,000 mg three times a day for a bacterial infection on my legs I started sweating a lot if I would clean the house, sweep a lot, change sheets on the beds. I would be dripping in sweat. No night sweats, just when I moved around a lot. Could the medication or the infection cause this? Resting I do not sweat. Any thoughts?
Brief Answer:
What is the name of the medication?
Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome,
I don't see mention of the name of the medication you are taking. Could you please list this? Also, why is the dose ranging from 875 mg to 1000 mg?
Information to follow after I hear back - thanks.

Brief Answer:
Sweating is not listed for Augmentin side effects. Still possible though.
Detailed Answer:
I looked up all the possible side effects of amoxicillin-clavulanate (Augmentin) and sweating (diaphoresis) is not listed. That said, it is still possible for any medication to cause unlisted side effects for a particular person. It's just not common or expected. If you still have an active infection, sweating with exertion may be from your body being stressed by the additional work of fighting an infection plus the physical work. I don't know what kind of infection you are dealing with in your legs, but resting as much as possible will help your immune system conquer this thing.
I hope this information helps.
