What Causes Excessive Sweating When Suffering From Fibromyalgia And Chronic Fatigue?

Question: Hello again Dr. Anantharamakrishnan! Hope you are well. You were kind enough to answer my questions several months ago. I have another regarding the heart. I am a 49 year old woman with fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue. Some days its very hard to get up, I feel like my body is very heavy, especially my upper body. In February I had a stress test with echo, an echocardiogram and several ekgs. Everything was normal and my cholesterol is also good. The past few weeks I have had a few eposides of excessive sweating, lasting for 20-30 minutes. No real pain or shortness of breath, but I am still concerned that this may be heart related. I am trying to take your previous advice and not worry. What do you think? I thank you again for your help.
Brief Answer:
You are right - this is not heart-related
Detailed Answer:
Dear friend,
Welcome to Health Care Magic
I am convinced that the present issue has nothing to do with the heart
Neurological consultation (for disturbance of the Autonomic Nervous System) may clarify the inappropriate sweating….
‘Cold sweating’ – sweating in normal or lower ambient temperature could also be from Anxiety.
Review by your Rheumatologist will help – to exclude auto-immune and rheumatic disorders
In the meantime, learn to ignore the symptoms / keep yourself busy / enjoy life / there is great saying - "This too will pass"
Take care
Good luck
