What Causes Excessive Sweating?
Might be hereditary; also get the following tests done
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for posting your query in healthcaremagic.com
This is Dr. Swarnava dattagupta answering your query.
I have gone through your query and understand your concern.
In some people, tendency of sweating is more than others. This can be present from earlier days of life and most of them give the similar history as yours. If there is no other associated diseases which can cause such symptoms, generally it is present from childhood or hereditary and I reassure the patient, ask him/her to reduce anxiety and use antiperspirants containing aluminium. This can save him/her from embarrassing situations.
However, there can be excessive sweating in diseases like diabetes, obesity, hyperthyroidism, gout, any chronic long standing infection etc. So I suggest tests for blood sugar, TSH, T3, T4, Uric acid and complete blood count etc to rule out the possible causes.
Relaxation, maintaining cleanliness and using antiperspirants should go alongwith. You can consult your treating or family doctor and get the tests done.
Hope i have answered your question.
If you have any further questions i will be happy to help.
Regards
Keep comorbidities under control
Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Considering your comorbidities, there are chances that your sweating got aggravated due to these. If you had excessive sweating before also, then you might be suffering from a hereditary or idiopathic cause of sweating as I had mentioned in my previous reply.
Still you should keep your blood pressure, blood sugar and cholesterol under control. Also, get the other tests done as advised. Apart from these, what you can do is take precautions as mentioned. Use of antiperspirants and relaxation might be useful.
Wish you good health.
Regards.
