What Causes Exhaustion, Excessive Sleeping, Depression And Lack Of Appetite?

make dietary changes; add salad and take a walk
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
After going through your query carefully it seems that you have symptoms suggestive of depression. You have lethragy, sad mood, low appetite, lack of motivation etc.
The reason for back ache can be your dull routine and long hours of lying in bed.
There are some basic faults in your current diet which needs correction and will surely help in recovery.
1. You need to start anti depressant as soon as possible.
2. Stop taking coffee and protein bars. they are harmful and also reduce the appetite further.
3. Please try to get out of bed and do some workout. I know it seems impossible to you right now but take my words- you can do this.
4. Take more water all day long in form of sips every 10-15min.
5. Add two to three plates of salad - that can include lettuce/ green salads/ carrots/ tomatoes/ any fruits...anything which you prefer. But take its three servings in a day.
6. Keep company of someone. Its difficult to motivate yourself when you are alone (though I have seen several of my patients doing that even when they are staying alone). Company of a friend or someone who understands you can work wonders.
7. Try to listen to motivational songs- .such things are good for a depressed mind.. same work is done by a good counselor.
8.when you can see the doctor please discuss your back ache. If possible get an X Ray of lumbar spine to rule out any organicity. However i feel that little workout is going to help this too!
9. Migraines are seen associated with depression and get resolved with proper anti depressant managment. Drugs like sertraline or prothiaden etc can help both of these together.
For PNR headache managment - naproxen sodium 500mg can help. You may need an antacid like pantoperazole for few days to handle acidity and low appetite.
Please have courage and help yourself, its possibel to get back to wellness!
Wish you good luck and speedy recovery!

also I forgot to say, I am already 9 months alone, only my husband comes home from work, he is only the one I see. And the migraine, I don't think they are out of depression.
time to change prozac & improve lifestyle
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I know your are on prozac but I wanted to tell that you need an anti depressant which has an internal property of handling headaches and depression as well. Something like prothiaden or venalafaxine or may be sertraline. When ever I have a similar case in my clinic ( this is a common problem) I prescribe them these drugs and have good results.
These drugs are better and more advanced in handling migraines. Your curent drug prozac is on a high dose but is not helping in anything, so its best to switch to a different molecule. Talk to your doctor for the same.
For sedation you are taking trazodone amd xanax. If you shift to another molecule you will be able to stop these .
The drug for adhd is taken by 4pm ...if you take it after that time it hinders sleep..so,please correct the timing if its disturbed.
Migraine- is like an octopus which has several limbs. In order to control it you have to cut as many as possible. Reasons for having migraine attacks can be- hunger/ tea coffee/ or even stimulant drugs/ excess or incomplete sleep/ near mensturation/ travelling/ water deficinecy/ certain smells / seasonal change/ depression/sunlight / acidity / visual problems. Now we need to cut the ones which are possible- like taking timely meals and not staying hungry for long; taking enough water; travel less, eating more salad; get your vision checked. If still you feel the attacks are more- get a CAT scan will rule out organicity.
Sumatripatn (imitrex) is not considered safe now a days and can be replaced with naproxen sodium with domperidone or aceclofenac. The catch here is to take the pain killer within five minutes of starting of migraine attack ( as soon as you feel the pulsation in head or whatever is your warning symptoms). If you try to tolerate it or take after 15-20min then medicine is unable to abort the attack completely.
A severe migraine attack can be handled with a pain killer injection. This will completely resolve it.
There are several good meds for migraine ...dont worry it is quite manageable. But first we tryout simpler ones.
Dietary changes help a lot.
I can get that you are alone all day long. In such cases its good to atleast have soft music play in the backgroud or radio in low volume (else it may trigger headache) and do some workout...you have to get up and give it a try...depression has an intrinsic tentency to make one slow and lethargic...you have to beat this..ok
Wish you good health. Please ask more questions for clarification.
