What Causes Eye Floaters?
i found your answer to my eye question, extremely helpful and very much to the point
i did indeed follow your advice.
i went to my specialist over here and he immediately made some tests,
ending up with retinoscopy
he found out that the retina had not leaked, but some of the viteous gel had gotten free and was floating about ( probably due to a nasty cold i had ,that made me cough heavily) and that was causing my seeing floaters.
he said that probably they would go away as the gel would eventually settle down
now for my question: since the accident my sight might be in need of a lens update ,as i have the impression that things are not so focused.
if indeed i need it, could it be a consequence of the event or just a coincidence?
my best to you Doctor
If you need a lens update, it is indeed coincidential.
Detailed Answer:
Hi!
It's been good knowing you.
1. As you mention, you have undergone tests that indeed prove the cause of the floaters. It's a well known fact that vitreous issues cause disturbances in vision that cannot be readily distinguished from a lens issue. I feel that if you need a lens update, then it would have been detected in the tests. During a retinoscopy, due note that the beam has to pass through the lens of the eye, and were that in need of any intervention, the opthalmologist would have pointed it out.
2. I would like to ask you whether you suspect you have the initial symptoms of cataract?
I would like to be reassuring here, though I would take you at your word in all due seriousness.
