What Causes Facial Numbness And Vestibular Migraines?
No.Its not Stroke.
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for being on healthcaremagic.com.
I am Dr.Ajay Panwar,a neurologist, here to answer your query.
No.Of course, it can't be stroke. One thing that is characteristic of stroke is abrupt onset of symptoms-not something which has been going on and off for over a month.
Possibilities-
1)Anxiety- can result in such non-specific symptoms commonly.
2)Multiple Sclerosis- One thing that is typical of MS is the onset of symptoms in warm temperature.Since the symptoms have been persisting for long now, a neurological examination and a MRI of Brain may be of help.
3)Metabolic- Though the symptoms are not specific, some metabolic diseases like Thyroid dysfunction and Diabetes can present atypically at sometimes. So, a comprehensive metabolic profile is advisable.
4)Further, Hypertension should be ruled out.
5)Alcoholism- Chronic alcoholism can also cause such symptoms, in case it applies here.
6)Neuropathy-Neuropathy in early stage can manifest intermittent pins and needles.
Hope that helps. If you have any further questions,I shall be glad to have you in follow-up.

Its a pins/needles pickling/itchy feeling. It burns a little sometimes too. Forearms, wrists, legs, knees, thighs, upper arms. Can be everywhere at once or move around. Lasts days at a time at intermintent intensity. Sometimes its a electrical like jolt. NO loss of strength during episode's. I dont think its anxiety. Its not hypervenolation.
At night it can be bad and i am very itchy. If i have sex, sometimes that triggers it and then i am itchy, XXXXXXX pins and needles all over body including scrotum/ anus area.
I feel that its def something neurological.
But what? MS seems unlikely. Yes maybe nuerophay, but caused by what? What are other things that could cause this?
Diabetes/Vitamin B12/Thyroid dysfunction

Hi XXXX,
Thanks for being in follow-up.
At this point, a neurological examination is likely to provide some diagnostic clues.
Anyway, Nerve conduction studies can be done to rule out neuropathy.
Further, common causes of neuropathy like Diabetes, Vitamin B12 deficiency must be looked for.
Thyroid dysfunction and Hypertension can also cause bizarre symptoms, at times.
Inflammatory markers -Erythrocyte sedimentation rate(ESR), C-reactive protein(CRP) may be done to rule out ongoing inflammation, which can otherwise cause nerve damage at times, as in vasculitis and autoimmune diseases.
Besides, the best next step would be to undergo a physical examination.
Hope that helps.I shall be glad to have you in follow-up with further questions.
