What Causes Factor-VIII Deficiency?

Question: I have been told I had a factor 8 problem. What is factor 8?
Brief Answer:
it's a bleeding disorder
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I suppose it has to be a disorder that may cause bleeding due to lack (or deficiency) of coagulation factor VIII. It can be inherited (most of cases) or acquired. Its severity is variable and depends on factor activity (the remaining activity that is, which can be measured). The inherited forms usually present early in life, so if you've never had any problems so far, then your case is probably acquired.
Factor VIII can be administered (when required) to prevent bleeding complications like bleeding inside the joints.
If you upload the test reports, it will help me to be more accurate in my answer (and with less guessing!)
Kind Regards!
