What Causes Failure To Conceive During Infertility Treatment?

Question: Hi Dr. XXXXXXX Goodmorning,I was taking Siphene for five days and ovagrace for the past three months.On eighth day i was suggested follicle scan and 4 eggs were detected in both the ovaries. On repeated follicle scan, when the egg size was 18.44 mm, I was given HCG 10000MG FOR EGG RUPTURE.The injection was given on 17th Oct and we did regular intercourse on 17th to 21st October that too twice a day.My PCT was also done which shows adequate cervical mucus and no infection.On 22nd October, I again did TVS and it showed egg has ruptured and fluid in POD.oN 22ND OCTOBER, I was given Gestofit SR 300 Mg and was told to wait for 14 days to know if pregnancy has clicked or not.Unfortunately I got my periods on 30th October and really disappointed.

Can you please let me know where is the problem.

I have thyroid which is now under control.Is that having adverse effect.
My husband had acute viral, flu, cold and was taking antibiotic for that during that time when we had intercourse. Can it be a problem.

I am really confused. My doctor has suggested to try this cycle naturally .You tell me should I again go for Siphene or try this cycle naturally.

Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
The causes of failure to conceive in this cycle can be any uterine infection, poor embryo implantation, thin endometrial lining, etc. Sometimes an exact cause is difficult to pinpoint. The chances of conception in every cycle even after a proper ovulation are not more than 25-30%. Taking medicines for cold and antibiotics does not affect the chances of conception.
In last cycle since there were 4 maturing ova, it is better to try natural conception in this cycle as hyperstimulation of ovaries can cause ovarian failure later on.
Do not be stressed. Avoid taking Siphene in this cycle and continue taking Ovagrace sachets and Vitamin E supplements. Do have daily intercourse during the fertile period of your cycle. Chances of spontaneous conception are present.

So this time, I am going for natural conception only.I got my periods on 30th October.,so please suggest when can I have intercourse for maximum chances of Pregnancy.Also , i consulted my doctor and she says there is no urinary infection.Also , as per last TVS, My endometrium lining was 9 mm .

Is it possible, my tubes are blocked as everything coming out normal but I ma not able to conceive.This time I will just take Ovagrace and try for natural conception.

Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
An endometrail lining should be at least 11-13 mm for conception. This can be one of the resons of non implantation. The tubes also need to be checked by HSG. You can get it done in this cycle after your periods finish. You can try for natural conception from 11- 18 November in this month.

Ok thanks.So this time, I will try naturally only.Lets see what happens.Is there any other medicine apart from Ovagrace which I can take .I suffer from infrequent periods and this time, I got my periods one week earlier only and that too heavy bleeding.

Will get HSG done soon.Is it Painful?

HSG is slightly painful procedure but is necessary to detect any tubal blockage.

Apart from HSG , IS THERE ANY OTHER TEST. As of now, I have stopped all medicines .i just take Ovagrace and thyronorm.Is Ovagrace a good source of Folic Acid or should I take any other medicine for Folic Acid?Apart from that, please suggest some good Vitamin E supplements. Any medicine which I can Take for Vitaminn E ?

Will also get HSG done soon.I try not to take stress but pregnancy is such a stressful process.Also I wanted to ask, though I am trying naturally , can I just get my TVS done o know the size of my eggs or should I leave it and just try

Right now only HSG needs to be done. Ovagrace does not contain Folic acid. You can take Tab. Folvite 5 mg daily. and for Vitamin E- Cap. Natvie forte will help.
You can get an ovulation study done to check the growth of your follicles and time the intercourse accordingly.
