What Causes False Positive Alcohol Test Result?
Question: My daughter has to do alcohol test. She failed it. She has not been drinking alcohol. She failed test on the 9th, passed on the 12th, failed one on the 13th and I took her to a lab on my own on the 14th and she passed it. So we started looking to see what she ate or drunk different. She drinks a lot of energy drinks. She tried a new one called Liquid Gold Shot. I read the ingredients in it and guess what it has MS extract in it. Which is ethanol. I need to know how to prove that this is why she failed on them days due to ethanol in this drink. In desseperate help to prove her innocience. She has a child and works at the hospital. How can I prove this theory. Please help me backed in a corner and this is one time I know she did not drink alcohol.

It is difficult to prove at this moment whether she took energy drink or alcohol as both of them have same thing which is detected by test (C2H5OH).
But if she can produce the evidence that she takes lot of energy drinks and one of the energy drink contains alcohol that it could be established that she did not drink.
For doing this first you need to produce the bills to the testing lab of Liquid gold shot and at the same time you can challenge them that this produces the same positive test.
I understand this answer may be far from your expectation but this is the way we can have decision in favor of her.
