What Causes False Positive Urine Test Result For Methamphetamine?

Question: Hi, I take opiod pain med ( for about 20 yrs now) and also use chamomile and valerian tea for sleep. My urine has shown up pos for canabis which I have never used. Can the teas cause this?

Although there is no literature available over the valerian tea but it is possible that it is likely cause for false positive result. This is because no test is 100 % accurate and further testing should be employed before accusing anybody of drug intake.

Having said this it is possible that use of opioid may have caused the presence of cannabis despite evidence that no such substance taken till date.
