What Causes Fasciculations Throughout Body And Tingling Feeling In Feet?
Question: Hi, at the end of 2014, I began to have fasciculations all over my body, then three months later i began to have tingling that started on my feet then progressed to my hands and burning sensations on my leg. The tingling mainly affects my feet now. I engaged in a high risk sexual activity within the 3 months before the tingling started and as a result I tested myself for Stds and HIV. They all came out to be negative and I re-tested 5 months later and they were negative as well. The doctor iI saw said the symptoms I am experiencing are not as a result of HIV. Do you know what kind of condition I may be suffering from. The issue has been going on for a year.
Brief Answer:
needs to rule out nerve or muscle conditions like MND
Detailed Answer:
Hi
I am Dr Mittal.
I have read your query.
I think I would be able to help you.
The symptoms of the query are quite suggestive of a neurological condition.
I think I would suggest that you try to get the following tests-
1. NCV- nerve conduction study.
2. EMG- electromyography.
these 2 tests may yield us the diagnosis.
Alternatively, you can meet up with a neurologist prior to the testing and confirm the diagnosis and then move for the tests.
I have tried to make it as simple as possible. I hope that the information helps you. Please feel free to contact us for more information. Best of luck. Dr Mittal.
