Question: I am 67 years old.
With very little effort my pulse stars beating fast.

Brief Answer:
Need some more information

Detailed Answer:
Hi madam.Thanks for your query.

If the stress test are nomal it means that your heart function is normal, beating at a normal pace and it is healthy.

But as per your description I would like to ask you some more information-
Can you please explain when does your heart beat goes up?
Do you feel your own heart beat(palpitations) during the episodes?
Do you sweat or shiver?
Do you have any stressors(physical, emotional, mental)?Does any of the situations in your day to day life lead to anxiety?
Are you currently taking any medications?

Await your reply soon.

Brief Answer:
Suggest holter monitor

Detailed Answer:
Hi sir. Thanks for writing back to me and sharing the information.

I appreciate your sportive spirit and wish you sustain the same. This really adds a lot to your quality of life.Hope you have been able to maintain a healthy lipid, glucose and blood pressures while on the above medication.Do continue the medication as per your physician's advice and do followup.

I would recommend holter monitoring which is a 24-hour, continuous test to record your heart rate and rhythm. The device has electrodes and electrical leads similar to a regular EKG. You can wear the Holter monitor for 12 to 48 hours and carry out normal daily routines. Thus it helps in identifying the change in heart rate and rythm during your routine. If holter is positive, I would add a small dose of beta blocker(metoprolol) to control the excess heart rate.

Hope this answers your query. All the best.
