Question: What causes fat pads ABOVE the clavical, I don't have the other symptoms of Cushings disease.

What causes fat pads ABOVE the clavical, I don't have the other symptoms of Cushings disease.
Brief Answer:
Possibly caused by taking corticosteroids.
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome Ask a doctor's service.
I read your query and here is my advice.
I think the fat pads you are having above the clavicle may be caused by cushing's syndrome but iatrogenic one.
If you have recently been on oral corticosteroids because of your complicated history of vertebral colon surgeries it may have caused the fat deposits.
Now you are not taking any but you may have been taking corticosteroids before.
Hope I have answered the question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

You mention in the first sentence, "I think the fat pads you are having above the clavicle may be caused by cushing's syndrome . . . but iatrogenic one". So, you are definitely saying that I should be looking at the possibility of cushing's syndrome?
Secondly, I have not been on any oral corticosteroids for at least as long as 10 - 15 years. I really can't remember being on them at all.
And you mention my "complicated history of vertebral colon surgeries", do you mean LUMBAR surgeries?
Any idea what the possibilities may be, just cushing's syndrome?
Many thanks for your attention to my question.
Best,
Holly

Brief Answer:
Get tested for cushing syndrome.
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear XXXXXXX thank you for asking again.
I believe it can be cushing syndrome and I was supposing that you may have been on corticosteroids because of your lumbar spine issues, nerve impingement or shoulder tendinitis.
Even though you have not recently been on corticosteroids I recommend you to get checked for cushing syndrome.
I think you should do cortisol levels in blood, urine and saliva at midnight.
If everything comes out normal then it can be related to oestradiol patch.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Best regards.
