Question: My mother, 78 years. Surgery for stage I renal cancer 7 years ago. Now experiencing low energy, sleeping lots and constant nausea. She has also been on Aropax for 20 plus years, 2 x 20 mg per day. Diagnosis is depression but concerned something underlying

I can understand your concerns for your mother.

Aropax can cause fatigue and excessive sleepiness. I think 40mg aropax is a dose on higher side for her age.

Also, change of drugs from aropax to fluoxetine and then back to aropax higher dose can be another cause for her symptoms.

With the details provided, I donot think there is any other cause for her symptoms.
The symptoms might take some time to remit now.

But as she has history of renal cancer, keep the regular follow-up with her treating doctor.
