What Causes Fatigue, Restless Or Irritability In Schizloid Affective Disorder?
Question: My name is XXXXXXX XXXX and I am currently within XXXXXXX Care and living in XXXXXXX Care housing and I am looking to find a way out. I am not sure of the legal ramifications, but I am looking to move and I would like to be off daily delivery of medication to my apartment and on fewer/less medications. I have had a weight gain of 46 pounds and I am not very pleased with this. As well, I feel very irritable and bored and listless and groggy. I am being treated for schizophrenia. My last doctor before I was hospitalized diagnosed me with schizloid affective disorder. I have tried going back to my last doctor but she won't return my calls. Is there any way out of this legally? I am willing to work with a psychiatrist. Who can I go to to complain or sort things out? Who is my legal advocate?
Would it help to switch psychiatrists and how would I do that? Could you find me another psychiatrist?

I went through your problem with diligence.
Well, I don't think this website has listed legal experts who can provide an opinion on this issue. I honor your request to relocate and be off some of those medication as they seemingly are causing side effects on you. However with history of schizophrenia and prior hospitalisation, I am not sure it is the best idea to get off the drugs, not until your treating doctor says so. Further, the treating doctor will be the right person to decide if you can relocate from XXXXXXX care housing. He/she will be the right judge to decide whether or not you can be treated as a regular person.
Laws of state with regards to medical treatment vary from each location. But in general most state don't allow a patient with schizoaffective disorder to chose the mode of treatment. Talk with your treating doctor and if you aren't happy with his/her decision, discuss with your family. They can help you find another psychiatrist to treat you.
As a physician with almost no knowledge on legal issues, this was my best opinion on this issue. You are free to claim refund if you aren't satisfied.
