Brief Answer: Due to patellofemoral instability. Detailed Answer: Hello, Thanks for posting your query. The feeling of disconnected knee on the outside is likely to be due to loosening of the prosthesis or patellofemoral instability. As the healing progresses and your knee gets stronger this problem will gradually decrease. If your knee is stable clinically then this can be taken care of with proper physiotherapy. Using an elastic knee brace will also help in providing a stability to the joint. I advise you to consult a proficient physiotherapist for proper muscle strengthening training. I hope this answers your query. In case you have additional questions or doubts, you can forward them to me, and I shall be glad to help you out. Wishing you good health. Regards. Dr. Praveen Tayal. No , you missed, I do not have a knee replacement, they only cleaned out and took out Miniscus on the inside. I had this disconnecting feeling before the operation and now I still have it? 3 Knee Surgeons do not know what is causing it and you apparently do not know either ?

Brief Answer: Ligament tear likely. Detailed Answer: Hello. Thanks for writing again. From your description it seems that you have a lateral ligament tear. You need to confirm this after an MRI scan. Doing quadriceps drill will help. Hope my answer is helpful. Do accept my answer in case there are no further queries. Regards.

Brief Answer: It is upto you. Detailed Answer: Hello. That is your point of view. I feel my time is also equally precious. Without the benefit of a direct examination online the investigations like MRI scan are the best tool for an accurate diagnosis. Regards.
