What Causes Feeling Of Foul Taste Coming From Stomach When I Burp?
Question: I had a normal dinner last night. Currently I am not on any antibiotics or anything that is not part of my usual medications. About two hours ago, I woke up with a horrible taste that comes from my stomach when I burp. I tried to eat something bland to try and remove the foul taste.
Brief Answer:
Nothing worrisome...
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
The foul taste you felt coming from your stomach when you burped might be related to:
- indigestion
- getting cold (if you have other problems like headache or chills)
Drinking fluids and eating bland food can help remove the foul taste. If it will persist for another day and your stomach will start to ache, then, you must provoke vomiting to empty your stomach. Then, can have lemon juice with little soda bicarbonate (or gatorade).
I also advise to take probiotics (or can eat more yogurt) to stabilize your GI flora. Keep a good oral hygiene. Do not lay down immediately after eating.
Wishing fast recovery!

Hi back XXXXXX,
At this point, as you are reporting to experience very dark diarrhea and all liquid , then, I need to ask for more medical data:
- does it appeared once? or you have a previous history of dark diarrhea?
- did you have problems with constipation recently?
- are you suffering of hemorrhoids?
- is there any new food you had last night or during the day?
- any other complaints: abdominal pain, heartburn?
Melena (internal bleeding) is suspected. Fecal occult blood test is needed to exclude/determine it together with complete blood work for further evaluation.
Looking forward to have the requested medical data in!

The last time i had dark diaherria was years ago when I had salmonella poisoning. As for constipation, I have not had it in the past couple months. No hemorrhoids that I can feel. I had that nasty taste in my stomach when I burped. As for new foods, my father and myself ate the same dinner last night - he does not have any symptoms.
