What Causes Feeling Of Something Stuck In Throat And Cricopharyngeal Spasm?

default
Posted on Tue, 9 Aug 2016
Question: For the last 8 hrs my 11.5 month old is crying way more than normal. Can't sleep. Seems to be having pain. Has gas. Not eating and started running a temp in the last 2 hrs. she keeps doing small tiny grunts with each breath when she wakes up. She is tired. It's the middle of the night but wakes every 2 hrs crying in pain and doing small grunts. Dos not want to be laid down. I think she may have swallowed something. I know earlier today she ate a tortilla chip that caused her to choke but she was fine afterward. Could the chip be stuck, or have caused a tear? What do I do? Very worried. Thanks.

Brief Answer:
Could be viral illness or a choking of foreign body -consult emergency room

Detailed Answer:
Hi....As you say there is fever, it could be a viral illness and because of fever she might be grunting. This is common. But as there is also a history of choking on eating chip, she needs to be examined by a physician.

I suggest you take her to the nearest emergency room as soon as possible.
