What Causes Feeling Of Warmth Sensation In Both Legs?

default
Posted on Mon, 5 Jan 2015
Question: Lately I have been feeling significant warmth in both legs. It's like warm water is flowing inside my legs. EMG was done and came negative. According to the neurologist there is no nerve issue. Also, I wanted to clarify that the warm feeling is throughout the legs and not just on the thighs. I am always rubbing it and there is no swelling or redness at all.
Thanks.
Thanks,XXXXXX

Brief Answer:
Neuropathy to be ruled out.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

I have been through your question and understand your concern.

Generally, the caloric sensation in the lower extremities is related to Neuropathy. While Neuropathy itself may have different causes, it is quite always manifested with sensation problems.

So, in front of symptoms you are experiencing, the first thing to rule out is Neuropathy. If it is confirmed, then you can have several other exams to find the cause.

EMG is the investigation of choice to diagnose a Neuropathy. Since it came normal, you should NOT worry about. If the symptoms persist and become troublesome, you just need another EMG, not other exams.

Hope this answers your question, please feel free for further questions.
